When I was in the Knowledge team we were tasked to work-up a homepage to showcase the breadth of content from across it's genres (food, nature, science, arts etc). My design was completed over 2 days, from concept to final design. The idea is based around content and the relations between them. As you rollover one of the promos you are shown similar content from that genre, then once clicked open you are shown more information and it's related content.
